First and foremost, bring yourself and the products of your creative endeavors to share with others. We also ask that you bring an open heart and a willingness to build up those attending.
Dress is casual, so guys won’t need a suit, tie, or tuxedo; nor will ladies need formalwear, fancy shoes, or a ballroom gown. While God is in control of the weather, it does vary some. In the Los Angeles area in mid-July, the temperatures usually range from 65 to 85 degrees F. Consider bringing a light jacket and clothing that can handle cool to hot weather. And check the forecast when you are packing for your travel.
Do bring whatever electronic equipment (laptops, tablets, phones, and chargers for each) needed for your participation and to display your game in development – but REMEMBER TO BACKUP YOUR DATA.
Also, consider bringing a camera (to record and share your memories), business cards to facilitate networking, and your favorite Bible to reference. Don’t forget to bring your toiletries and any needed medications. While the main meals are optionally available, snacks may not be. So plan on bringing snacks if you need those, especially if for medical reasons (low blood sugar).
For those staying in the dorms, you’ll need to provide your own bedding/sleeping bag, pillow, hygiene items (e.g. soap, shampoo), and towels. The beds are Twin XL, 36″ x 80″. Light sleepers should also consider bringing earplugs. And light-sensitive sleepers should consider bringing a sleep mask. That said, there is an optional Linen Package that APU offers for $20 that includes pillow, pillowcase, 2 sheets, blanket, wash cloth, hand towel, and bath towel; this package can be purchased on-site upon arrival.
