This group is for developers to announce significant news on projects they are working on. So shameless plugs are totally on-target.
But it's also for people looking to know what projects are out there in active production.

Comment by Anthony Joseph Schwartz on May 21, 2012 at 2:49pm Well I am finally back in the game :D
After having about a year and a half of research on the occult, conspiracies and the word of Lord God, I have FINALLY found the perfect way to create a big budget christian video game. I have mentioned on my blog that I cant post what I wanted to create, but now I would love to share the ideas and thoughts (Well atleast one small part of the game play system, note its just one of many). The whoel concept is bigger than what I am going to write, so even if someone decides to take the idea, a complete picture will be missing (which would be about 95%).
When I started out I wanted to create a game that will go into the depth of sin and its consequence when using it. I also thought out of a system that would really show the true meaning of sin, giving the player a sense of feeling bad when using it and being rewarded when using the word of Lord God instead. When I mean consequence of sin, I dont mean as in losing points from a faith bar or similar but rather a system of very grafic animations. Now this will sound odd and rather dark, but if the player wants to understand the purpose of Lord Gods son death, Jesus Christ, one must understand what Sin really is. In one part of the game, for example, imagine a priest who travels between the bases in a war to give hope to the men fighting. Now when driving to the next base the whole jeep explodes right infront of the base gates. You (the priest) are pulled away from the scene (3rd person view) and what how some of the men get shot from a few men in the same uniform. You black out. Its night time as you regain your conscience and are able too look around you. The base is burning, the bodies from the shootout are still laying there. As you get up you hear voices from a distant room. You see a gun, a question is asked: " Do you want the gun?". Either you take it or not. As you walk toward the house you notice that they speak englich. The group has left and they two are the only ones here for the next 3 hours. As you look in you see a man tied with rope to a chair. Two terrorists are torturing him with cruel devices. Now what do you do? And how is this christan? Now the thing I want to implant to the player is choice, and that is the right choice.
1. The Priest either took a gun or not
2. An action against the terrorists must happen or the man dies
3. What is your choice?
Good choice:
+ With Gun:
- Shooting the evil doers into the legs, arms or areas that do not kill the person instantly
- etc.
+ When not accepting the gun
- Shouting to the evil doers to get the attention to you
- Throw something at them to get attention
- etc.
Bad choice:
+ With the gun
- Killing either of them
- etc.
+ Without the gun
- Killing either of them
- etc.
Now when the bad choice is taken then the player will experience a very not traditional kill. The entire history of the killed person is flashed on the screen; his problems, his loved ones, his flaws, his talents etc. everything in a few seconds ( max 10 sec, Its so long to also let the player to have a playing penalty). Not only that but the entire act, the actual sin, will be shown in full uncut way. Now death is extreme, yes I know, but when trying to bring the reality to a game, it should be real with real feelings. If people can play manhunt, then they should play it with having regret just watching the act, not lust on it!
After seeing a few Dead Space 2 videos, I felt horrible. I just watched them and I felt dirty and nasty. But it wasnt a really bad nasty ist was a creepy\cool nasty. Death is not cool, and this is what needs to be shown (my opinion)
I think holding back on material in a such important game, that should reach mankind, it would not ever get the true message out there
Comment by Ronald Widjaja on May 27, 2012 at 6:47am @Anthony: That's quite an interesting game concept that you have there. I too once have quite a similar idea like that but instead of "Priest", the concept that I made involve playing as an Angel who has to "pick" or "leave" some people to heaven (or hell). So the angel is like from the "Valkyrie" concept.
My concept involves an angel who live in a world where the time stops. From there, the angel will be able to see and interact with every human (in their "not moving" state). Each time the angel "interact", the angel can look back to what that person done in his life and from there after knowing his/her story then you as the angel should decide whether this person should be "pick" home to the heaven or to be left alone (stay alive) or should be "pick" to hell.
So for example: The angel is in a hospital and the angel met somebody who been in terminal ill state, after looking back to the patient life and what his/her family been going through then should you "pick" the patient home to a heaven? Because he/she has accept Christ in his/her life but in the other hand, his/her family doesn't want this family member die even though there is no way to save this patient anymore OR should you let the patient be on their miserable state and let he/she suffer to his sickness?
Whatever decision that you made is going to produce a cutscene about what will happen to the patient and his/her family when you already made a decision for the patient and if you made the right choice then you will rewarded with a "faith" point. This "Faith" point will be useful to perform "miracle" on other event that the angel will encounter in the future.
For each story/event that the angel will face, there will be some message from the bible as a hint on how to get the best result from deciding your choice. And that's about my idea...:)
This idea however is not applicable for me to create it just yet because the storytelling aspect should takes lots of effort and not only that, to create a cutscene, that too will take tons of efforts.
So maybe when i find the right investor who willing to invest in Christian games then who knows perhaps this idea could be applicable and if you interested then who knows we can work together on the storyline since I believe both you and I share this same gameplay idea. :)
Comment by Ronald Widjaja on May 27, 2012 at 6:51am Oh btw I forgot to add my latest work. So as a Game Producer of the Faunia Rancher team, I would like to share the game that I made with my team in the past 5 months.
The game is called "Faunia Rancher" in which you will play as a new Rancher who has to take care of his/her Faunia creature.
We implemented some "Tamagotchi" gameplay and mini game adventure into our game. Please check it out and download at the iTunes store when you people have the time. Thanks! ;)

Im working on a christian gameboard that 's in the works, its comming along very well indeed?. Wondering if i could get any comments on how to make it a reality and take "flight". Its fun and exciting to play,(I believe my concept has valuable weight)
Comment by Justin Fox on August 10, 2012 at 2:16pm Wow! This is exciting to see so many new devs that share in the quest to make Christian games... well 'good'! I'm working on an old school RPG. It's called "ReElise". It's a mature title (milk not meat) that plays a lot like the old Phantasy Star games except it's ATB. Here's little bit of into for it. www.reelise.com . The website has screenshots, characters, flyers, music, and a playable demo! Check it out! We'll be starting a kickstarter campaign this month too. Take a look at the PREVIEW of the kickstarter. I'll need as much support as possible. The trailer for the game is below.
