Comment by alice louise phipps on November 20, 2011 at 1:50am My name is Alice, and I have devloped 2 games on paper and on facebook with friends. I have come up with the idea for 2 games. I am presently playing these games with some friends on our facebook walls, and by e-mail. One game is a Christ centered game that has the players exchaning prayers requests, sharing bible verses, sending encouragment messages, shareing things we are thankful for, and meeting the bible challenges of each level. the 2 nd game, is a game for people trying to lose weight. The game helps the players focus on weight loss and living a healthy lifestyle in the form of a game. Each level requires the player to set goals, get rid of bad habits, exchange recipes, exchange ideas, and encourage each other. I have this game on paper ,on facebook walls ,and e-mail. I do not have any backgorund in how to put a game on a net work such as facebook .I need help from someone who knows how to do the tecnical end. Any ideas or sugesstion from anyone.

Tiago - we'll have to do a better job of spreading the word as we have been around for over 10 years! :)
Anthony - how is the engine learning going?
God bless you all,
-Tim
Comment by Christopher Jenyns on March 17, 2012 at 12:06pm I have a degree in cultural studies, which had some critical thinking components. An example of what someone with my skills can do is the advisor who graduated before me and went on to advise the makers of the Matrix films, on how to innovate their concept. That's basically what I do, innovate concepts.
I have analyzed my own experience of the gaming market and identified a gaming niche that has not been tapped, which would be ideal for reaching gamers in a very disciplined and personal way (requires 3d modelling to be competitive).
In addition, I have made headway into the rpg field, volunteering a concept to Oblivion and Skyrim, which has since been adopted (although still underutilized).
My own cross is already set out before me, but if I can help you with your project (Lord willing) or inspire you to take up my niche concept (Lord willing), it would be a joy for me to do so.
Naturally I do not produce the ideal concept first time, every time; I am also skilled at acting as a foil for other people's ideas... you're thinking something very cool, right now!
Since this is a Christian site, I will also admit that I am working through mental health issues, but I assure you that it will not be contagious unless it is the Lord's doing! (judge for yourself from what I have written if this is a concern).
Comment by Tim Emmerich on March 17, 2012 at 10:01pm Christopher -
Does your degree address modern culture? Or ancient cultures?
Now you have intrigued us - what can you share about this gaming niche you have identified?
God bless,
Tim
Comment by Jeff Spicer on March 17, 2012 at 11:21pm Christopher, that sounds like a very unique skill set. In addition to what Tim asked, is your training primarily for narrative-based things, like movies, books, and narrative-based games. Or what about procedures and methods that a developer might use to create a type of game?
Comment by Christopher Jenyns on March 19, 2012 at 12:39am Yes the degree was mainly analysis of media.
Procedures and methods did not enter into my training.
I opted for a practical component in filmmaking, which was the first point at which we were asked to relate what we were doing to the real world.
As I said, I am dealing with mental health issues at the moment, and the medication is inhibiting my ability to recall specific details, with any efficacy.
Mainly, I did just want to put a hook out there for an established developer to latch onto (I've been offered a job in America by a developer, by doing just that).
I could talk about the niche, but it would basically take two words and you would want to hit yourself for not thinking of it sooner. The thing that should tell you that it is legitimate is that I can guarantee there will be negative opposition from the world, for attempting it. There are many ideas out there, you will not be short for possibilities, if I do not tell you, just yet (I am aware that nothing covered will not be revealed!)
Comment by Christopher Jenyns on March 19, 2012 at 12:41am Sorry, but I am related to a programmer, who might be able to undertake the idea at some point, so I am just hedging my bets for it, unless I can be sure letting it go early will still see it to success
